Mr. Kamau Sadiki is a diver for the Smithsonian Institute. He and his team travel all over the world to locate and identify ship wrecks from the Transatlantic/Oceanic Era of African Enslavement.

He will share the stories of his experiences finding the Sao Jose Paquete de Africa Memory and the Clotida shipwrecks. Mr. Sadiki is prominently involved with the descendants of the last slave ship that landed in Alabama. Zora Neale Huston wrote about the Africans who arrived on that ship, called the Clotilda in her book Barracoon. He will discuss his archeological work as a diver, and share the emotional and spiritual journey involved with it.
