PBS station WHUT will host a free online screening and discussion of my new documentary Kindred Spirits: Artists Hilda Wilkinson Brown and Lilian Thomas Burwell.  Please register at http://whutkindredscreening.eventbrite.com/

Kindred Spirits explores the unique relationship between an African American aunt and niece – both native Washingtonians – who, despite the hardships of the Great Depression and the inequities of racial segregation, became accomplished artists and educators. The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion with producer Cintia Cabib, artist Lilian Thomas Burwell, curator and art historian Adrienne Childs, and Associate Professor of Art History at Howard University, Gwendolyn Everett.  To watch the trailer and learn more about the film, visit http://www.kindredspiritsfilm.com .
I hope you can join us!
