CAS presents a Marita golden book talk

CAS Reads Big presents an incomparable evening of storytelling, discussion, and prescription as celebrated author Marita Golden discusses her latest book, The Strong Black Woman: How a Myth Endangers the Physical and Mental Health of Black Women. 

This invitation only event, creates a safe space for exploring the myths that threaten the well-being of Black Women. An inter-generational audience of women from across the University of the District of Columbia community will gather in-person and virtually to explore Marita Golden’s research and the opportunities for healing and transformation that it presents.

We hope that you will join us. We are offering 50 in-person seats on a first come, first served basis. Vaccination status must be verified and masks are required. Please indicate your interest with your RSVP.  Virtual attendance will be supported through the Zoom platform. Confirmed attendees will receive a link to access the event 24 hours prior. One hundred pre-signed copies of the book will be made available for participants.
